T&C Radar — Privacy Policy

What the extension does

T&C Radar reads the text of Terms & Conditions, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and consent pages you visit in Chrome, and produces a plain-English risk analysis (summary, risk score, and flagged clauses).

What data leaves your browser

When a scan runs — either automatically on a detected terms page or when you click "Scan this page" — the extension sends the following to the DeepSeek API (api.deepseek.com), operated by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd.:

• The visible text of the current page (truncated to approximately 12,000 characters)
• The page URL and title

This transmission happens only at the moment of a scan. The extension does not run scans in the background on unrelated pages, and does not collect browsing history.

What data stays on your device

• Your DeepSeek API key is stored in Chrome's sync storage (chrome.storage.sync), which syncs across your signed-in Chrome instances via your Google account.
• Analysis results are cached locally (chrome.storage.local) so re-visiting a page does not trigger another API call. The cache holds at most 100 entries and can be cleared by removing the extension.

What we do not collect

The extension has no servers of its own, no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising. The developer receives no data from your use of the extension.

Third-party data handling

Page text sent to DeepSeek is governed by DeepSeek's own privacy policy. Per DeepSeek's API terms, API inputs are not used to train models. Review their policy at https://cdn.deepseek.com/policies/en-US/deepseek-privacy-policy.html before entering your API key.

Your choices

• Disable auto-scan in the extension's settings to only scan pages manually.
• Remove your API key at any time in settings.
• Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data.
